About 20" or so. The hardest part is clearing paths to get to the animals..I didn't even open the chicken house today..they have everything they need so they are ok for a day or 2 until we can get to them...
We had an "emergency" visitor last night. My sister (my baby sister..), who is a State Aid in a VA Nursing Hospital, was on her way home at 11:30pm, and knew she was not going to make it home, so she made a detour here, and stayed the night.....she had to work today too, so did my son...
Tonight will be the real trick, because they say it will be slippery....black ice......my sister gets out of work at about 11-11:30pm, and my son said he does not know what time he is going to come home tonight (the place he works at had no power until this afternoon) ..so here's praying they both make it home safely...

ReplyDeleteThank you, Ashley. I think this will be a tough week for any of those that are working, especially the later hours. This is the time we get thaws in day time, and freezing at night, so a lot of black ice...
ReplyDeleteThe main thing is to keep focused, and just do what you have to do...(and move slow...what's that commercial? "Walk like a Penguin.."..?
My son made it home..he is already out working again..hopefully he won't have to work into the night today ..or the rest of the week..
I have not heard from my sister (she works the 2pm to 11pm shift at a VA hospital), and both me, and my other sister, are worried, but figure no news is good news...right?
