Menus For the Week

Some times menus get tossed, or items are put aside...this past week we had a lot of unexpected things come up so some things on this week's menus are repeats...(Pizza is always repeated!)

MON-1-ROAST CHICKEN (DORIES LAZY MANS CHICKEN ON BREAD) FROM: AROUND MY FRENCH TABLE PAGE 200 (A ONE POT MEAL-LIKE A CHICKEN POT ROAST-WITH EXTRA VEG FOR THURSDAY)

TUES-2-I HAVE ROLLS SO IT COULD BE ROLLS BBQ PORK (F) SANDWICHES  OR TUNA ON ROLLS (I GUESS IT DEPENDS ON WHAT EVERYONE FEELS LIKE)

WED-3-POCKETLESS PITA PIZZAS WITH PEPPERONI (BUT I WILL LEAVE OFF THE PEPPERONI AND PUT MUSHROOMS ON MINE)

THURS-4-CHICKEN B'STILLA  (AROUND MY FRENCH TABLE PAGE 222)  WITH A GREEN SALAD AND SOME ROAST VEGETABLES LEFT FROM MONDAY (THIS IS A CHICKEN PIE IN A FILO CRUST)

THE WEEKENDS ARE ALWAYS UP FOR GRABS (OUR WEEKENDS ARE GENERALLY FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT-SUNDAYS ARE GENERALLY OURS) SINCE PEOPLE ARE COMING OR GOING.  I HAVE SOME FAST CHOICES IF EVERYONE IS AT HOME.
CHEESE STUFFED SHELLS WITH ARUGULA
OR COD AND CORN CHOWDER

SUN-7- CHICKEN SOUP (STOCK MADE WITH ALL THOSE GOOD BONES FROM EARLIER THIS WEEK) WITH TORTELLINI AND ITALIAN BREAD (OR SOUR DOUGH BREAD) AND GREENS SALAD

  2. Forgotten Chicken is chicken baked in rice mixed with cream of soups....makes the chicken tender and my kids love it.

    BBQ Pork sounds yummy!

  3. I made a pork shoulder in the slow cooker last week. Whenever I have a meat of some kind I always try to make enough for 2 or more meals. I like roasts because I can stretch them for many meals. (I just freeze the left overs and date the packages.) That way when I need a fast meal it's almost there. For the pork I either add BBQ sauce or just have them Southern style on rolls with vinegar and cole slaw, or add tomato sauce and pasta...
Guess that's a left over from the days of Frozen Assets..haha...
I Love one pot casserole meals! I think the meat comes out better...(tender..is that a word?)

  5. So many yummy ideas. I've made the pocketless pita pizzas before, quick, easy and tasty. Your chicken soup with tortellini sounds really good!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, and thanks for the nice comment.

  6. Thanks Donna. Actually the chicken soup is a faster cheap "excuse" for a Cappelletti (Caplets she called them) soup my grandmother used to make (homemade)..but the fast version does in a pinch..
